Graham Heron is a professional artist working mainly in watercolour and graphite pencil and is an associate member of the SGFA.
Born in Bristol, Graham grew up and was educated in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and now lives in the heart of the Chilterns with his family. He began his working career as an apprentice for a company specialising in architectural interiors, based in London, after which he was awarded a scholarship to study art and interior design at High Wycombe College of Technology and Art. He found the two year course very inspirational and says it kick-started his career. In the seventies he was awarded the Licentiateship ( LICT) for his achievements to industry.
Graham describes his art as both traditional and contemporary, working in watercolour, graphite, coloured pencil, and mixed media. His subjects are varied; portraits, wildlife, landscapes, and creative subjects. He’s always seeking inspirational composition. With a passion for the outdoors, nature and animals, Graham’s a keen walker, spending frequent breaks in the Lake District, Norfolk and the rolling hills of the Chilterns.
Since retirement from his career he now devotes his time to a love of art. He is a member of the West Wycombe Art Club and exhibits at local exhibitions. His ambition is to expand his art nationally.
